There is no way to stop any of your friends from tagging you on Facebook, but you can decide how the tagged photos and videos will appear on your Facebook Timeline. To control this, go to your Facebook Privacy Setting menu from the top right corner of your Facebook page.
    Privacy Settings
In the Privacy Settings page, scroll down to the Timeline and Tagging section and click on Edit Settings.
    Timeline and Tagging
A popup window will appear, click on the Review posts friends tag you section.
    Review Tag
Click the drop-down menu to select Enabled
After selecting this option, every photo or video you are tagged in will be hold up for your review and approval before it gets posted on your Timeline.
According to Facebook, if you select this option, your friends can still tag you and the tags may appear elsewhere on Facebook, but not on your Timeline until you decide to approve it.

Facebook tags and wall posts are becoming troublesome for most of us due to increase spam and viral links images / videos etc.

Luckily, Facebook provides users an option which can help them avoid all those tags and posts to be displayed on their Facebook wall without permission.

How to control what happens when friends tag you or your content on Facebook

To stop auto posting on your Facebook wall and auto tagging by your friends, you can control what happens when friends tag you or your content. To do so, follow these steps:

    1. Login to your Facebook profile

    2. Go to Privacy Settings (from top right)

    3. On privacy settings page, look for “How Tags Work” and click on “Edit Settings” in front of it.

    4. The popup will open when you click on edit settings for how tags work on facebook profile of yours. Now, turn the options and filters which you want to be turned on. I will recommend turning all of them to on or atleast timeline review and tags review.

This way, when someone of your friend tags on your wall, it won’t get published automatically and will be pending your approval before being publicly available.

There is no such way to stop people from tagging you on Facebook but you can always have an option of approving or disapproving it by following these simple steps:

    1. Login to Facebook
    2. On the right hand side corner you will see an icon with a Question mark, just beside it there is an arrow which is facing downward, just click it
    3. Then you will see few options, click on settings
    4. You will be able to see a column where there will be general, security and login, privacy, on that column itself, you will be able to see a a tab of timeline and tagging, click on that
5.The first option where it says “who can add things to my timeline?, there will be two sub options to that .Check the second sub option where it says “Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline?”.Enable it
    6.Save the changes

Now whenever you will be tagged on Facebook, you will be asked to approve it to be shown on your timeline or not and it will totally be up to you if you want to approve it or not.

Unfortunately Facebook does not give a way to stop people from tagging you on things. The only thing you can do is turn on “Tag Review” which lets you “screen” tagged items before they get published to all your facebook friends.

With “Tag Review” turned on, whenever you are tagged you will be informed of it and you can either approve or ignore the tag. If you approve the tag the post will be published in your newsfeed so your friends can see i, if you ignore it, the tag will stay but it just means your friends won’t get to see the tagged item in your newsfeed. You can remove tags on posts by going to the post then selecting

The info below is taken directly from Facebook’s help page:

How do I review tags that people add to my posts before they appear?

Tag review is an option that lets you approve or dismiss tags that people add to your posts. When you turn it on, any time someone tags something you posted, that tag won’t appear until you approve it.

    To turn on tag review:

Click at the top right of any Facebook page and select Settings
In the left column, click Timeline and Tagging
Look for the setting Review tags people add to your own posts before the tags appear on Facebook? and click Edit to the far right
Select Enabled from the dropdown menu

When tag review is enabled, you’ll get a notification when you have a post to review. You can approve or ignore the tag request by going to the post.

Note: When you approve a tag, the person tagged and their friends may see your post. If you don’t want your post to be visible to the friends of the person tagged, you can adjust this setting.

    How to Remove a Tag

    Hover over the story, click

and select Report/Remove Tag from the dropdown menu. You can then choose to remove the tag or ask the person who posted it to take it down.

You can also remove tags from multiple photos at once:

    Go to your activity log
Click Photos in the left column
Select the photos you’d like to remove a tag from
Click Report/Remove Tags at the top of the page
    Click Untag Photos to confirm

Removed tags will no longer appear on the post or photo, but the post or photo is still visible to the audience it’s shared with. People may be able to view the post or photo in places like News Feed or search results. To fully remove it from Facebook, ask the person who posted it to take it down.

Unfortunately Facebook does not provide a way to remove tags from comments, if you find yourself tagged in one.

    Privacy settings:
In the privacy settings Page, scroll down to the timeline and tagging section and click on edit settings

    Timeline and tagging:
A window will appear click on the review posts friends tag you…section.

    Review tag:
Click on drop down menu to select enable
